Open-Space Tranquility in a Serene Suburban Escape

Challenges

• Previous Builder: This customer grew tired of the previous builder that he was working with and hired us to take over. Stepping into the shoes of a previous builder can sometimes pose a problem. However, this was early on in the process and we were able to start fresh.
• Budgetary restriction: This customer was firm in staying as close to his initial cost as possible. Custom home contracts can vary significantly during the process, but this client was able to stay within 1% of his initial cost, making for one happy client.
• New County Stormwater requirements: This is one of the early homes that require stormwater facilities on site. Navigating the county requirements while achieving the customer's vision posed a new challenge, but the end result was well worth the effort.

Solutions & features

• Stone Veneer: We used manufactured stone that gave the appearance of real stone but the cost was able to reflect something more affordable.
• Changing Window Series: We were able to use a different window series on the front and back to help the client stay within his budget. Anderson Woodwrights and Anderson 200 series give almost the exact same appearance, but the cost is significantly more budget-friendly for the 200 series. Mixing the two kept us within the budgetary restrictions while providing quality windows.
• Open floor plan: This customer really valued an open floor plan. The dining room, kitchen, and family room flow together to establish an open living space at the center of the home.
